PITTSBURGH, PA – March 1, 2010 – Right by Nature (RBN), Pittsburgh's independent natural and organic full-sized grocery market, announced today its merger with GoodApples.com, the largest online grocer in western Pennsylvania, also based in Pittsburgh.

The combined company will do business under the name Right by Nature and continue to serve its online customers at www.goodapples.com and www.rightbynature.net. In addition to billing its store as Your Hometown Market, changes to Right by Nature's retail format will include a newly renovated café and a selection of traditional products to augment its natural and organic offerings.

"The idea of placing Heinz next to Muir Glen Organic comes directly from shopper requests," said Robin Martin, Right by Nature general manager. "We're simply adding best-in-class traditional brands to become a full service market for the customer."

The merger is expected to allow Right by Nature to expand its customer base by adding a delivery component and pulling retail traffic from Good Apples' list of 30,000+ online customers. Likewise, GoodApples.com aims to better meet customer needs by adding approximately 6,000 Right by Nature products to its online store.

"The main focus here is customer satisfaction," said John McClelland, former CEO of Good Apples and now the chief business development officer of Right by Nature.  "Our goal is to build the best shopping experience around, a fully-integrated online and in-store business that puts the customer first."

For Right by Nature, the addition of online ordering will significantly increase perishable product sales.  According to Martin, the result will be an opportunity for customers to bring home the freshest produce possible regardless of how they place orders.  "They can walk the aisles of our store or shop online and get next-day delivery," he said.  "Or they can get a little of both by shopping goodapples.com for in-store pickup and we'll have their order waiting for them when they arrive."
